Never say hungry again!

Finally did something this week that's worth mentioning. Went to see my J1/J2 juniors do some outdoor cooking today. You know, all the collecting firewood, starting your own fire type of cooking that scouts like to do (we call it backwoodsman cooking, dont ask me why) Seeing them cook reminds me of the days when I didn't really have much to eat. When being able to start a fire (in the ever-raining-and-flooded Brunei jungles) is an astonishing achievement. When we're so desperately hungry that "CB flowers", a raw chicken wing, ferns, tapioca and sweet potatoes seem like gourmet delights. When combat ration green packs actually taste good. I'm damn glad to see them cook now. I'm damn glad I've passed that stage.
