Duty woes

Anyone heard of a certain duty planning policy dictating that there must be at a mixture of duty personnel from different races during festive seasons? Neither have I.

Down came this email from GSOC saying that my camp is not complying with certain duty planning policies during festive seasons. That personel on duty on CNY and the day after cannot be made up purely of non chinese, stating "racial sensitivity" as the reason. And they'll do spot checks to make sure it is enforced. Racial sensitivity? What utter bullshit.

Wouldn't even the toot with the least bit of common sense try to avoid planning a Chinese for duty on CNY? I suppose the same goes for Malays during Hari Raya and Indians during Deepavali? Not too sure if our Malay and Indian friends will feel very racially discriminated when they are performing duty on CNY without their Chinese counterparts. I mean c'mon, we've been trying to schedule duties for Malays and Indians away from their festive seasons too right? Understand that sometime it's unavoidable if there's insufficient duty personnel and the need to protect the camp and blah blah... But there MUST be a Chinese on duty for the sake of having one? oh i mean.. to avoid racial sensitivity.. Give me a break man.

So there must be a swap. And who else but me the sucker to make the changes. Draw lots. Supposed to be the fairest. But life really isn't very fair you'd have to admit. Turned out that one of my spec, who's on leave, who's in ORD mood as bad as me, who did quite alot of public holiday duties previously kena-ed..again. Tried to explain all those racial sensitivity bullshit to him but he didn't really buy it. Neither would I if I were him.

Kaoz.. Another enemy made.. I can't be more happy to go ORD in a month's time.
