Cycling. The OBVIOUS choice!

My aching body from a simple game of squash yesterday proved that the prospect of me maintaining my IPPT gold this year is getting slimmer and slimmer. (and i am getting fatter and fatter) Without the army's regimentation, i simply lack the discipline and determination to exercise regularly and keep in shape. The devilish side of me I have always managed to come up with sinful excuses justifications whenever i am lazy busy from work.

In a bid to curb the trend and cash out that $400. (A very brilliant) I have thought of a solution that doesn't require me to wake up earlier than i should and still get my daily (albeit little) dose of exercise. In fact, i will even get more sleep than usual and save myself some money.

Well, the obvious answer is to cycle to work. Because
  • my workplace is relatively near my house. I estimate around 10- 15 min of cycling.
  • save on transport costs
  • less travelling time. Yes. It takes longer to travel by bus to my workplace (ard 40 min inc waiting time)
  • Wake up later in the morning
  • Offers to burn more calories than the whole day of office work

My bike had been sun baked, rain soaked, bird shitted and spider cobwebbed for the past few years. The tyres harden over time and the brake cables rusted, so i needed a mini revamping before i can actually ride again. Changed the tyres on sat and my uncle (who's very kind) helped me to change the brake cables and lubricate the gears today. So, thus, hence, therefore, I should be able to ride to work from tomorrow onwards, unless it bloody rains.

Yay.
